About

An industrial engineer by degree, but a musician and sound engineer by choice.

It was the summer before my senior year when I realized how much I did not enjoy industrial engineering and decided to push my passion of music professionallhy.

I have been playing guitar since age 10 but didn't get into music professionally until the pandemic shut down everything in 2020. In that time I started to learn how to record and produce myself on Logic Pro and take myself more seriously as a musician. During the summer of 2021 I decided to take production classes at Penn State University where I was able to learn how to properly produce music as an audio engineer and producer. Through my work in that class I was able to work for Penn State as a sound engineer where I have been able to hone my craft of sound engineering even further.

I also have experience working on live productions at two different local theatres. At the State Theatre I have worked as a security guard as well as a stage technician heping with load in and load out along with any back stage mishaps that happen during a show. At Eisenhower Auditorium I work as a stage technician helping with load in/load out as well as setting up stages for different productions ranging from ballet companies to jazz ensembles.

As well as working on all of the professional side of music I started and managed my own band, Scarlet Thorn. We have played many different shows in town from houses to local coffee shops. All of the promotion and booking of shows was done by myself personally and now that the band has gone on hiatus, I am doing the same for my own solo music under the name of "Visk".

"Hey it's the Scarlet Thorn Guy!"
